Campus Communications maintains, develops, and coordinates ways to communicate with a broad range of UNM and CNM students, faculty and staff. The mission of Campus Communication is to promote evangelization to Catholics and non-practicing Catholics at UNM and CNM, and to promote dialogue with other Christians (ecumenism) and other faiths (inter-religious dialogue). Community Life at the Aquinas Newman Center is a committee focused on building community within the Aquinas Newman Center. It’s mission is to provide students opportunities to get to know one another, and through these relationships get to know God better. The Peer Campus Minister for Community Life is Alex Guimaraes.
Faith Formation assists in the promoting of ongoing education and faith development of our community by planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating programs, such as retreats and faith sharing groups. The Peer Campus Minister for Faith Formation is Joshua Gallegos.
Gospel Justice raises awareness about justice issues, to do service, and to reflect upon their experiences in light of the Gospels and the Catholic faith. It’s mission is to serve those in need, by involving the Aquinas Newman Center community in service projects that directly connects students with people in need and to empower the community to further the ongoing conversion of social structures to Gospel values. The Peer Campus Minister for Gospel Justice is Alicia Sedillo .
The Liturgy and Worship committee’s mission at the Aquinas Newman Center is to more fully develop student participation and leadership in Eucharistic celebrations. The Peer Campus Minister for Liturgy and Worship is Katie Carleo.
