The University Minsitry Advisory Council Mission Statement: The University Ministry Advisory Council (UMAC) of the Aquinas Newman Center, composed of students, faculty, staff, alumni at the University of New Mexico, and parochial members of the Aquinas Newman Center community, advises the leadership of the Newman Center on how best to serve the needs of students, faculty, and staff of the University of New Mexico.

UMAC's task can be simply put in the anagram A.R.E.

1. Assesses needs and activities,
2. Recommends goals, objectives, strategies, and programs, and
3. Evaluates our ministry on an annual basis. UMAC meets on a quarterly basis.
